The Concept for The Co.
The McKenzie Co. is a design concept deeply rooted in my passion for creating spaces that are not only beautiful but also meaningful. Each design is an expression of my belief that spaces should reflect who we are and serve as a place of peace and purpose. I believe in the power of thoughtful design to enhance daily life and foster an environment where one can truly feel at home.
My approach to design is guided by the values found in Matthew 6:33: “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” This inspires me to prioritize authenticity and purpose in every space I create, trusting that the right design will align with what truly matters.
My design style? It’s what I like to call The Onyx Revival, where tradition doesn’t retire, it reinvents. I take the bones of classic design (think crown molding, vintage charm, real character) and layer in bold choices, unexpected textures, and just the right amount of modern edge. Imagine velvet with steel, antique with attitude, and a whole lot of “where did you get that?”
It’s timeless, but never timid. Moody, but never heavy. I design for people who appreciate a sense of history but aren’t afraid to stir the pot. If your grandma and your cool downtown friend co-hosted a dinner party, that’s the vibe.
